Milestones
Set Milestones to best communicate with your applicants on progress, reducing confusion and providing a clear view on the process.
Locating the Milestones feature
Anyone with a Role that has Program Design privileges can open the Milestones feature by opening the PROGRAM DESIGN menu and clicking on Milestones:
How to define a Milestone
Milestones are helpful for showing a simple view of complex Workflows that contain lots of statuses. You’ll be able to group several statuses together into one Milestone showing an applicant a more streamlined flow through the process. The applicant or installer will see a highlighted blue portion of the configurable status bar on the View/Edit project views. This serves to quickly inform a user about where the project is within the workflow. A status description for each Milestone may also be included in the Current Status section to help the user understand what is happening at this stage of the process.
To set up Milestones for your PowerClerk program navigate to PROGRAM DESIGN > Milestones, then:
- Add Milestone (as few or many as you wish)
- Name the Milestone
- Drag and drop the status(es)* you’d like to include into each milestone
- Enter the Status Description to display on the Current Status panel of the View/Edit page (optional)
*Please note: Not every status needs to be assigned to a Milestone. When a project is in an unassigned status, Milestones are not displayed on the View/Edit page.
A status can only exist in one Milestone. As you add statuses to a Milestone it will be removed from the Unassigned Statuses list. If you later decide you want to move a status, you can simply drag it from one Milestone to another or remove it, and then drag it to the new Milestone from the Unassigned Statuses list.
