A PowerClerk certification validates your skills and depth of knowledge in designing and administering PowerClerk programs. Getting certified demonstrates your mastery over PowerClerk’s rich feature set to manage energy program design and administration and adds a valuable asset for utility professional’s careers.
 

Exam Summary: PowerClerk Program Manager

This is the first and foundational exam that is required to become certified as a PowerClerk Program Manager capable of administering PowerClerk programs and supervising applicant projects through a program’s Workflow.
 
Candidates who pass the PowerClerk Program Manager exam have demonstrated that they possess the skills and understanding to perform administrative duties related to processing a submitted application project effectively and to guide the project through required review stages prior its final, terminal status (e.g., Permission to Operate).
 
Exam candidates administering one or more PowerClerk programs may have gathered intermediate exposure to the software and should have a working understanding of a program’s requirements. This includes familiarity with relevant business processes to perform required review duties within PowerClerk, and/or the ability to distribute application projects to subject matter experts for further review:

  • Perform the initial review of a submitted applicant project.
  • Confer with their customers as needed to validate all information has been appropriately filled out in the customer’s application in-take.
  • Reflect upon review processes, note potential suggestions for improvements to meet business requirements, and align solution with existing customer initiatives and infrastructure.
  • Recommend and explain proposed solutions and benefits to PowerClerk Program Designers.
  • Understand the impact(s) of administrative measures.

Exam Summary: PowerClerk Program Designer

This is the Program Designer exam in PowerClerk’s certification series aiming to certify PowerClerk configuration skills required to become certified as a PowerClerk Program Designer capable of blueprinting, designing, and implementing intricate and complex PowerClerk programs to warrant seamless and unobstructive processing of applicant projects through a program’s Workflow.
 
Candidates who pass the PowerClerk Program Designer exam have demonstrated that they possess the skills and understanding to convert business requirements to reflect program design decisions. They can roll out PowerClerk program implementations and alterations thereof and aim to minimize program downtime in the process. They also guide internal staff on how to review an applicant project and progress it through required review stages prior to granting permission to operate. Program Designers also setup reporting tasks consumable by internal stakeholders.
 
Candidates taking this exam aim to take into consideration any business requirements as outlined by their organization and are familiar with using PowerClerk’s feature capability to utilize the software appropriately. Candidates should have a working understanding of their organization’s program requirements and be familiar with relevant business processes to plan out and implement required review duties within PowerClerk and effectively prepare the workload to be processed by internal administrative staff bound to work within the PowerClerk program:

  • Plan out implementation phases and program requirements based on business requirements and the scoped-out work.
  • Investigate and setup any Forms, including data/groups & attachment fields, Workflow statuses, Automation steps, and Communications to effectively translate program requirements into PowerClerk program design.
  • Improve automatic processing of applicant projects and further streamline program operations by adhering to best practices and keeping up with feature improvements of PowerClerk.
  • Review and discuss proposed solutions and benefits with PowerClerk Program Administrators.
  • Understand the impact of program changes and how to implement changing legislative requirements on an ongoing basis.
